For citations in footnotes, use the Author Year format, indicating only the last name and separating different authors with a hyphen (up to four authors - if there are more than four, list only the first three followed by "et al.") according to the following format:

  • Rossi 2021 (1 author)
  • Rossi-Bianchi 2021 (2 authors)
  • Rossi-Bianchi-Verdi 2021 (3 authors)
  • Rossi-Bianchi-Verdi-Neri 2021 (4 authors)
  • Rossi-Bianchi-Verdi et al. 2021 (more than 4 authors)

If multiple references appear in a footnote, they should be listed in descending order of publication date (most recent first); for works published in the same year, follow alphabetical order.
