Regulation

Regulation on Submitted Manuscripts review

1. Papers published in the "Studies and Research", "Notes and Discussions", "Systems and Applications" sections as well as in monograph sections and issues are subject to double-blind peer review (except those sent to the Journal at the invitation of the editors in Chief).

2. The author prepares the manuscript in accordance with the guidelines for submitting texts. Manuscripts can be submitted via email to the Journal secretariat (rivistariid@igsg.cnr.it).

3. The editors in chief, supported by the Scientific Editorial Board, preliminarily examine the submitted manuscripts to assess their relevance to the scientific disciplines of interest to the Journal and, in case of positive evaluation, assign them to two reviewers expert in the field, according to the criteria of competence and rotation, so as to ensure adequate evaluation of the submitted manuscripts for the purpose of publication.

4. The reviewers fill out an evaluation form provided by the Editorial staff and give a summary evaluation of the manuscript (in terms of: Accept submission, Revisions required, Decline submission) providing the rationale for the judgment and any indications and suggestions for the author.

5. Upon completion of the evaluation procedure, the editors in chief will notify the author of the outcome.

6. If the reviewers agree on the "Accept submission" evaluation, the contribution is published.

7. If one or both of the reviewers request revisions, the editors in chief ask the author to take action as indicated by the reviewers. Following such interventions, the editors in chief may decide for publication or submit the contribution for a new evaluation.

8. If the manuscript is evaluated positively by one reviewer and negatively (in term of “decline submission”) by the other reviewer, the editors in chief may assign the contribution to a third reviewer. The contribution is published only if positive evaluations are prevalent (two out of three).
